

Our Pastor
George E. Murdaugh
Rev. George E. Murdaugh came to Oak Road Lutheran Church in the summer of 1993 after sixteen years of ministry in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. Pastor Murdaugh was first called pastor of Oak Road Lutheran Church after its initial founding in 1985.
Pastor Murdaugh has involved himself in the broader work of mission and outreach through the Lutheran Church since coming to Oak Road. He is also the North Georgia coordinator for the Committee for Asian Mission and Evangelism. He is the contact pastor for the Lutheran Korean Outreach in Metro Atlanta, and serves on the Atlanta East Circuit Outeach Council. Pastor Murdaugh serves as convener for the District President's select committee on theological conferences and he also serves as the Circuit Counselor for Circuit One of the Florida/Georgia District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. In addition to his regular duties of preaching and pastoring the congregation at Oak Road, Pastor Murdaugh is a busy Bible teacher, conducting five different classes during the week.
Pastor Murdaugh is a graduate of Holy Trinity Seminary at the University of Dallas where he earned his B.A., M. Div. and M.A.Th. He also attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. He is married to Teresa and they have three children, Donna, Nathan, and Austin.
